It is a sacred lake of the Hindus. According to the Hindu scriptures it is described as “Tirtha-Guru” or “Tirtha Raj.” The essence of the lake is impeccable. The lake is semicircular in shape and is about 8-10 meters deep. The lake is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats. The devotees can have a dip in the holy Pushkar Lake and it is believed to cleanse sins and cure skin diseases.

Brahma Temple also known as Jagatpita Brahma Temple, situated close to Pushkar Lake, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. It is the only temple in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma. The picturesque temple is made up of marble and slabs and decorated with silver coins. It has a distinct red pinnacle (shikhara) and a hamsa bird motif on it. A marble statue of the god of the sun is platonic.
