OBSTACLES FACED BY WOMEN MOTORCYCLE RIDERS IN INDIA.
HOW TO OVERCOME DIFFICULTIES FACED BY WOMEN MOTORCYCLE RIDERS?

Experiencing various locations in a multicultural country like India is one thing; discovering this paradise with Indian motorbike tours is quite another. It is the joy of witnessing the trip that most of us overlook in preference to the destination that we have been going to. Bike tours place riders in a commanding position and space, pushing them to complete vast and arduous journeys, the distances which we do not consider while traveling by plane or train. Its opposite side defines it as loving the sights that one encounters on a more personal level.
Women motorbikers are a rapidly increasing community in India, with several bike clubs forming in recent years that are either completely oriented to women or welcome them into their folds.
Despite their resolve to defy gender stereotypes and hierarchical conventions, they occasionally encounter quite fundamental roadblocks along the way.
1. EVE TEASING ON THE ROADS.

A serious crime that can lead to severe punishments, many laws are formed over eve-teasing but have this stop those morons? NO. The female bikers have faced incidents that sometimes question their passion just because some idiotic creatures roaming unleashed on the streets. When faced with harassment on road by one of the Indian female riders, she stated “The roads might be completely empty but they will still try their tricks. Once when I was driving, my dupatta was flying. One rider came behind me and tried to catch hold of it. Apart from the teasing, it is downright dangerous. I could have lost my balance & fallen down.”
This is just one incident mentioned here but a majority of female bikers face problems like these during their road journeys. Do not BACKOUT just because of some imbecile humans. Here are some tips to upgrade your defensive skills with safety.
· Firstly, do not call on those morons unless you are in a crowded locality or nearby a police station.
· Carry pepper spray & multipurpose knives. Use it if it turns dangerous.
· If you feel you are not able to ride more. Quickly search for a nearby crowded shelter such as markets, restaurants, hotels, etc.
· Seek help from locals if required.
· Report the incident to local stations.
· Avoid traveling solo for long-distance trips.
Be careful on your trips & stay safe enjoy your rides, also learn 3 to 4 self-defense moves & use them on their empty heads.
2. PRYING EYES.

Other problems faced by our bikers are inquisitive people during their journey. People still need to upgrade & leave their old school minds & accept the new normal. But the majority of our riders have faced situations like these where they get sore eyes or uncomfortable stares. As experience shared by one of the female riders said, “There is a lot of curiosity when people see a female rider. From workers at restaurants to hotel managers to the attendants at petrol pumps, everyone asks me questions like where I am coming from, what I do, and my destination.” We understand you are not comfortable saying “Mind Your Own Business.” But here are some rescue tips when trapped in such situations.
· Enjoy being the center of attraction. They envy your passion or are more over curious so just enjoy & ignore them.
· Sometimes, sassy replies won’t hurt so try some if you are receiving taunting questions.
· Uncomfortable stares? Give them the famous dead eye look I am sure this works every time.
· Never share your personal data if there are many questions just make a fake story.
3. SAFETY SHELTERS & REST.

Clean restrooms & place to stay while you are riding is the problem faced on every trip. “Sometimes the toilets are clean but lack other facilities like working taps, functional faucets or clean mugs. We select our pit stops based on the availability of clean toilets and a safe space where we can sit for some hours during break time. During my journeys, I map my breaks at Cafe Coffee Days because of this,” says the riders. Halting on your stays while traveling.
Bikers mostly are found in the dilemma of taking short recovering halts on their road trips for themselves & their precious bikes. We have found a perfect stay for bikers with safety precautions & sanitization for themselves & their bikes.
· If you want to use washrooms between your drives always step into private cafes for sanitization purposes.
